Today is the feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, which is a very special feast day to me. To say I don't remember ever learning to say the rosary is the truest way I can describe my relationship with this powerful prayer. I just always knew it. It was as much anpart of my life as breathing.

My father would always say a rosary on drives, just sitting around at home and whenever he got the chance. We only said family rosaries on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation, but I always remember my dad just saying his rosary just because. It was truly never stressed how important it was. By his reverence, consistency and passion, I just knew.

I was a teenager when I realized that I found out that we had a generational familial devotion to Our Lady of Fatima and her message of praying the rosary. My grandparents impressed this devotion on my father and he passed it on to me.

One day, I hope that it will be as familiar to my children as breathing. But I think that is the true purpose of marriage, to help each other, their children, heir friends and families and eventually society in the truth that the faith is more natural than breathing.

That's why it is so important to incorporate this beautiful and necessary devotion into your wedding day and your marriage. Sometimes it is as simple as Beth and Trevor, whose wedding gifts to each other were beautiful rosaries that were blessed by the priest that married them. Or you can add it to your bouquet as is a tradition and there is even a beautiful tradition amongst the Hispanic Catholic Community called a Rosary Lasso.

Get together before the wedding and say a rosary together or say one before the rehearsal dinner. But do not forget to honor you beautiful mother at you wedding! She is attending your wedding whether you honor her or not, so take the time to honor her.

Here are some of my favorite Mary inspired photos I have taken at weddings.
