Trevor & Beth

As a Catholic wedding photographer, I have the privilege of witnessing and capturing the beauty of love in its purest form. Engagement photography sessions hold a special place in my heart because they mark the beginning of a couple's journey towards the sacrament of marriage. Trevor and Beth's engagement session was no exception.

During an engagement session, my goal is to create a space where the couple can express their love freely and authentically. It's a moment of intimacy and connection, where every glance, smile, and touch speaks volumes about their relationship. This particular session, we wanted to incorporate the Japanese structures in Franklin Park due to the bride's history of living in Japan for three years. Even though we just missed the cherry blossoms, we made the most of the daffodils on the hillside. But soon moved to this beautiful waterfall feature in the park.

Catholic values such as truth, goodness and beauty are woven into the fabric of every engagement session I photograph. Sometimes that means incorporating elements that are physically symbolic of our faith, such as rosaries, crosses, etc. But a great deal of sessions, it means that we incorporate elements of creation and the simple love that the couple shares. Despite the rain and cloudiness, we sought beauty and found it. We found one flowering hanging cherry blossom tree and took advantage of it's beauty. Then we went to the outdoor amphitheater and took advantage of the simple architectural beauty.

An engagement session is a celebration of the journey to marriage. It's a time for the couple to revel in the excitement of their upcoming union, to reflect on their love story, and to envision the future they will build together. As a photographer, I feel privileged to be part of this joyous occasion and to document the beginning of their married life. Even if it means, we go to one of your favorite bars and share a beer to warm up.

In Catholic engagement photography, there is a rich tapestry of faith and tradition that can be woven into the images. And some of those images are brought to life in the pages of books... so what better way to end the night then at my favorite bookstore! And a cute homage to their respective home states!

In every engagement session I photograph, my goal is to not only capture beautiful images but also to tell a story—a story of love, faith, and the journey towards a lifelong commitment. It's a privilege to document these precious moments and to create memories that will be cherished for generations to come.

I cannot wait until these two beautiful souls' wedding day and capturing their love and faithfully share their beautiful story with all of you!
